THE WAYAYA VISION – is to care for orphans in an environment where you wouldn’t mind your own child living. A maximum of 6 – 8 children in each home, with ‘house-parents’ who love and nurture each child as if that child was their own – give them ‘The Freedom to Flourish’ to achieve the ability to become future creators of wealth, business people, farmers, doctors, solicitors, pilots, actresses, musicians and who knows even one day the President of Zambia! Nothing is impossible with the help of God and the love shown to these children.
Mark, Glenda and the ‘Wayaya Trustees’ Future vision is to eventually have a community cluster of comfortable houses each parented by committed and loving parents. We aim for an upbringing of each child that breaks the expectation of poverty in later life; which nurtures fully the capacity for development of each child. We aim eventually for a school that the children will attend; a farm where they will learn and understand the necessity of knowing how to grow food and livestock; and a school of music, where the irrepressible musical voice of Zambia will find a stage. We at Wayaya aim to raise families that will influence the next generation in Zambia.
We are indebted to our supporters who have helped make the dream come true and in particular to Rosemary Bougeard who organized various fund-raising events and to Malcolm Alcock who project managed the construction works in Zambia and we say a ‘Big Thank you’ to everyone who has supported us throughout the years.
JUST LIKE NOAH RESCUED HIS FAMILY AND ANIMALS FROM THE FLOOD, SO WAYAYA IS GIVING A SECURE REFUGE FOR SOME OF ZAMBIANS ORPHANED CHILDREN.
